A model of basic emotional needs and toxic experiences: Their links to the domains of schema, well-being, and illness.

Bach et al.’s four-factor model was concluded to be the strongest model. These four domains are exclusion and exclusion, impaired autonomy and functioning, impaired constraints, accountability, and extreme standards.

The above four domains and the satisfaction of the needs in these domains are negatively correlated with toxic experiences such as: neuroticism, depression, anxiety, stress, Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy.
